The EIS scheme is now the only UK Government tax scheme to offer Capital Gains Tax ("CGT") Deferral 40%. The scheme also offers income tax relief at 20%, free growth on Capital Gains and, through Business Property Relief, exemption from Inheritance Tax ("IHT") if the shares are held for more than two years. This scheme is tax efficient and sanctioned by the government. In the government's Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) there are currently 5 separate Tax Reliefs.
